I always love trying new beauty products. And it seems like more so than ever, there is a product for anything and everything on the market. It’s been a few months since I shared a beauty product round-up and since I have been trying out some new products, I thought I would share a few of my new favorites. New year, new beauty products!
I always joke that by the end of the week, my hair is 90% dry shampoo. I use dry shampoo just about everyday, so needless to say I go through quite a few bottles in a month. And I have tried just about every dry shampoo on the market! Typically, I start using a dry shampoo and like it, but after using it for a few weeks, I grow tired of the way it makes my hair feel or the smell or sometimes both. But, this Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo is my new favorite. It works wonders on my day 2 (or 3 or 4) hair, has a great smell and you can’t beat the under $5 price tag. Since I use dry shampoo so much, it only makes sense to find a budget friendly version and bonus that it works well and smells great!
If you belong to Costco, you have probably seen someone trying to sell you the latest and greatest product in the middle of the store while you are trying to navigate the busy aisles. I typically bypass these booths but I’m thankful that my mom decided to listen to InfiniteAloe’s spiel a few months ago at Costco. InfiniteAloe promises a lot: not only is it a natural skincare product, it also promises to help with skin issues including cracked skin, dry skin, wrinkles and aging skin and even eczema.
I have had extreme dry skin on my arms for years as well. It becomes more noticeable at different points throughout the year. I have tried just about everything: from over the counter products to prescription creams, nothing has really worked. I have been using InfiniteAloe on my arms about 3-4 days a week for the past month and a half and I have noticed a huge different in my arms already. If you have a skin issue, I would highly recommend checking out InfiniteAloe. It is a little on the pricey side, but I have had such luck with this cream, it’s totally worth it. And good news, it is available at other stores besides Costco! Shop it here.
My hairdresser was using this a few months ago when I was in to get my haircut and I just had to ask, "what’s the deal with texture spray?" I have heard people talking about it a ton recently, but had no idea how it was used. Similar to dry shampoo, texturing spray doesn’t soak up any of the oil in your hair like dry shampoo, but it does add volume and texture that gives you the "roughed up and messy" look. I don’t use this everyday, but I love the way it does give me some added volume and the shining qualities are just a bonus! For me, texturing spray is a great product to try in the winter. I will definitely be avoiding it come summer with D.C.’s crazy humidity.
Simply Scrub: Rose & Coffee c/o
I always love trying out new body scrubs, especially in the colder months. I have found that exfoliating with body scrubs are especially important when it comes to removing dead skin. This organic body scrub leaves your skin feel exfoliated, moisturized and soft.
When I first opened the coffee scrub, I couldn’t get over how it smelled just like a fresh cup of coffee! And the only scent that I love more than coffee, the rose body scrub has the most amazing floral scent with the prettiest red-pink color. These organic scrubs offer many benefits, and if you are looking for help with a particular skin condition, you can pick your skin condition here and find the scrub that works best for you. For example, the rose scrub is great for those suffering from eczema due to the essential oils in the scrub. And the coffee scrub is perfect for removing dead skin.
I raved about Drybar’s Hot Toddy Heat Protectant in last week’s Best Buys of 2017 post (you can see that post here) and today I wanted to share the other product I have been using lately in conjunction with the heat protectant. I have always heard wonderful things about the Living proof brand, and this product is no exception.
This Restore Instant Repair is a leave-in treatment that I work into the ends of my damp hair after using the heat protectant. Perfect for those suffering from dry and damaged hair, I try to use this treatment once a week to help with split and dry ends. Overuse of heating products like my curling iron and straightener have taken a toll on my hair over the years. I just recently started using the treatment and I have already noticed a difference. I only use a small (less than a dime-size) of the Restore Instant Repair and about a dime-size amount of the Hot Toddy Heat Protectant. This amount works well without leaving my hair heavy or with too much product.
What beauty products have you been loving lately? Thanks so much for stopping by, friends! I hope you all have a great rest of the week and weekend. See you back here on Monday!
